What Hilo is

You type a question. Hilo researches it, writes a roughly ten-minute briefing, narrates it, and delivers it to a private podcast feed only you can reach.

Briefings are researched and narrated by automated agents from the question you submit. Hilo orients; it does not advise.

What Hilo isn't

A briefing is a starting point, not an authority. It is not professional advice of any kind — not legal, medical, financial, or otherwise — and it should not be relied on as though it were.

Automated research makes mistakes. It can miss things, misread things, and cite a source that doesn't say quite what the briefing suggests. Hilo shows you its sources so you can check; please check anything that matters.

Do not use Hilo as the basis for a decision you would want a qualified human to make.

Your account

You need a working email address, and you're responsible for keeping your password and your private feed URL to yourself.

One account per person. Don't use Hilo to generate material that is illegal, that harasses someone, or that you intend to pass off as human-written research without saying otherwise.

Your questions stay yours

The questions you ask are yours. The briefings Hilo makes for you are yours to use however you like.

Hilo does not use your questions or briefings to train models. They are processed to make your briefing and to run your account, and that's all.

Availability

Hilo is a small product run by one person. It will occasionally be down, and briefings will occasionally fail — when one does, it doesn't count against your monthly allowance and you can retry it.

There is no uptime guarantee. If Hilo is unavailable for a stretch long enough to matter to you, write in and it will be sorted out.

Ending things

You can cancel or delete your account at any time — see the refunds and cancellation page for how that works.

Hilo may suspend or close an account that is being used abusively, or to attack the service. If that happens you'll be told why, and if there's money involved it'll be dealt with fairly.
